The Unknown – a Tanka

Secrets and questions
Never asked; never answered
Alone in darkness
Flickering flames on the wall
Drawn out toward the blinding light.

My response to Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 119 “Mystery & Attract,” #SynonymsOnly.

Running Away

You can run
Across dead leaves,
Through naked trees
In a dusk lit woodland
Off the trail,
Away from the crowd,
But you’ll never
Outrun your past
Without tripping
Over your destiny.

At the Beginning @ Free Verse Revolution

Free Verse Revolution has posted another new poem of mine:

At the Beginning

Winter Haiku

A crisp cold wind blows
Snow starts swirling on mountains
Ice sparkles on trees.

All The Lonely People – Now Available!

I am very happy to be included among the many talented writers in Nicholas Gagnier’s new anthology All the Lonely People, which is now available on Amazon!

Huginn and Muninn (Haiku)

Odinn, Huginn, and Muninn

Two ravens fly out
Watching all under the sky
And returning home.

This haiku is my response to Colleen’s 2019 Weekly #Tanka Tuesday #Poetry Challenge No. 117, “Poet’s Choice of Words”
